The School of Education is approved by the New York State Education Department and is an accredited member of the American Association of Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). The School of Education was accredited in January 2022, and its accreditation runs through 2028.
The School of Education is comprised of three academic departments:
- Adolescence Education: Provides instruction and preparation for those seeking to become teachers in grades 7-12.
- Childhood Education and Literacy: Provides instruction and preparation for those seeking to become teachers in grades 1-6, including teacher-candidates with bilingual skills.
- Exceptional Education and Learning: Provides instruction and preparation for those seeking to teach students with disabilities (all grades), including teacher-candidates with bilingual skills.
