Mission Statement

Student Affairs exists to support and challenge students to grow to their fullest potential as leaders of tomorrow in a diverse world. Through a holistic approach, the Division of Student Affairs provides a variety of services that encourage the development of SUNY Old Westbury students. We strive to provide opportunities that enrich intellectual, academic and personal potential, as well as promote the empowerment of our students through experiences in leadership, social justice, and mentoring, and participation in enriching interactive experiences.

Overview

All offices and functions within the Division of Student Affairs place an emphasis on student development that enhances leadership skills, fosters citizenship, promotes ethical behavior, and facilitates self-understanding. 

We have more than 60 clubs and organizations that provide an amazing selection of opportunities for student activities and involvement. As the most diverse comprehensive college or university in SUNY, Old Westbury is committed to creating an environment that promotes cross cultural understanding as well as sensitivity and tolerance to differences.

The Division of Student Affairs is virtually open and available Monday - Friday 8:30-5 p.m. (EST). Contact us via the virtual front desk for assistance regarding general questions. Please note, visitors will be admitted one at a time for one-on-one support. If answers cannot be provided immediately, a follow-up will be provided.  For specific departmental support, please find them on MS Teams.
