The Microcredential in The Foundations of Cognitive Neuropsychology will provide students with detailed knowledge in the anatomy and physiology of the central nervous system and the molecular and biochemical basis of cognitive higher-order cortical information processing as it relates to typical and atypical mental states. The Microcredential also covers the clinical neuropsychological testing of fronto-executive disorders/syndromes, dementias, age-related changes in cognition (e.g., Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases), brain injury and traumatic brain injury at both early and later stages of life. The Microcredential has a specialized focus on cognitive processing and the neurobiological basis of psychiatric and developmental disorders neurological/neuropsychology testing, measurements, and assessment of disorders and dysfunctions in comparisons to healthy age-matched individuals. Students will also acquire the competence to be able to communicate this knowledge effectively in oral and written form.

In order to acquire The Microcredential in The Foundations of Cognitive Neuropsychology, students must complete the courses below with a grade of “B” or better:
Requirements
Students are required to take 16 credits by completing the listed courses with a grade of B or higher. (Note: All of the courses in the Microcredential have prerequisites that are not part of the Microcredential.)
