  • BURSAR: You must be financially clear with the Office of the Bursar through these payment options: 
    • Credit Card: Old Westbury accepts VISA, MasterCard and Discover credit card payments which are processed 
    online using the web credit card payment option available on your E-Bill which can be accessed via ConnectOW.

The College offers a number of academic and student support services. All staff and faculty associated with these functions work together to assist students in understanding and meeting the College's requirements. While the list is not exhaustive, we hope that you will use these services as needed to address any academic concerns or issues. 

FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS 

(First Year Experience (FYE) 

Please follow the directions in the email from the First Year Experience program to create an in-person advising appointment or Distance Academic Advisement appointment. First-year advises students for their entire first-year at OW into their sophomore year, working as a liaison between departments and students All staff members can be contacted through Zoom, Teams, their OW email, or their direct phone lines. Any questions please contact,  guzzardil@oldwestbury.edu.

SOPHOMORES

ACE, EOP & TRIO First Year and Sophomore students will receive an email to create an Academic Advisement appointment with their ACE, EOP or TRIO counselor. Please follow the directions in the email ("Schedule Your Advising Appointment") from the Academic Planning Center to create a Remote or In Person Academic Advisement appointment. 

SCHOOL OF 

ARTS & SCIENCES JUNIORS/ SENIORS

Junior and Senior students receive academic advising from their assigned academic advisor. EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM (EOP)

First-Year and Sophomore students will receive an email to create an Academic Advisement appointment with their EOP Counselor.The best ways to communicate with the office will be through email, phone, Navigate or Teams.  

  • Always available via e-mail or Navigate for appointments. 
  • All EOP staff can be contacted by sending an email or leaving a voicemail.  
  • Monday – Friday there will be someone physically in the office until 5PM. 
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

Please follow the directions in the email from the School of Business concerning Academic Advisement. All majors in the School of Business are assigned a faculty advisor based on their discipline. The names and contact emails for the student’s faculty advisor can be found the student’s Navigate page under Your Success Team.

Counseling and Psychological Wellness Services (CAPWS)

Staffed by licensed mental health counselors and a psychiatrist, we offer free individual, couple, and group counseling and psychotherapy, as well as workshops, psychiatric consultations, and referral services. To make an appointment:

Counseling Services has partnered with the community provider U-Will for Mental Support 24/7, (6) tele/video therapy with a mental health counselor, and on-demand self-help modules.

Math Learning Center (MLC)

The Math Learning Center provides free, in-person and virtual tutoring for almost all math courses as well as computer science courses. We support students with homework, test preparation, and building strong problem-solving and study skills. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are available to reserve a time with a tutor. Panther Community Care Center (PCCC)

The Panther Community Care Center (PCCC) is located in Campus Center, K-100 and is open for students who are experiencing difficulty meeting basic needs, and/or are experiencing financial or emotional difficulties – impacting their academic progress and overall wellbeing. PCCC can assist with navigating resources such as SNAP, Health Insurance, etc. They also host several "Wellness Wednesday" events on campus.

Panther Pantry

The Panther Community Care Center (PCCC), located in Campus Center, K-100, also houses the Panther Food Pantry. The mission of the Panther Food Pantry is to improve the quality of life among students, faculty & staff on the campus of SUNY Old Westbury by providing access to food & other necessities for those in need.  

  • Open for students ONLY on Tuesdays from 12-4pm.

Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center provides in-person tutoring at Campus Center H-201 and online via the Tutoring Center schedule for various courses across all majors. We also help with study skills, test prep, and time management to support your academic success. Walk-ins are welcome if a tutor is available.
