Housing applications are available online for students interested in living on campus.  Housing charges consist of both room and meal charges as well as a key deposit. All students living on campus are required to be on a meal plan.

Please note that housing and meal costs are subject to change. Costs for housing and meals can be found at the Tuition & Fees section of our website. Refunds are available based on the official withdrawal date from the residence halls. Room and meal charges are prorated ONLY during the first six (6) weeks of each semester.

Online Deposit

A $50.00 advance housing deposit must be either paid directly to the Office of the Bursar or be done online before any housing application will be processed. This is separate from the tuition deposit of $50.00 which also must be done.  PLEASE NOTE: Housing deposits will clear in one (1) business day.  

The advance housing deposit is refundable until July 1st for the Fall semester and until December 15th for the Spring semester. Deposits made after these dates are refundable 30 days from the day payment is received, or until the first day of class, whichever comes first.

To pay your housing deposit on-line:

  1. Process to access the deposit screen is something like:

  2. Log in to ConnectOW
  3. Look for Manage My Account card
  4. Click E-Bill My Account
  5. Select "Deposits" from menu at top of page
  6. Select correct semester in drop-down menu - click "Select" button
  7. Select "ROOM DEPOSIT WEB" in drop-down menu - click "Select" button
  8. Follow on-screen instructions to complete payment method until you have a payment receipt (keep this receipt for your records)

All students new to housing (Incoming first-year, transfer and international ) must complete an online housing application to be considered for housing. 

Please Note: 

  • You must have completed a $50 housing deposit

  • Must be registered for full-time status (12 credits or more)

  • Must be in good standing with the university

  • You must have the following items available to be able to process your housing application: 
    • SUNY OW student ID # (commonly referred to as your 700#) and
    • SUNY OW email account (____@oldwestbury.edu for housing related communications) and
    • An active ability to access the SUNY OW ConnectOW Portal 

Instructions for Completing the Online Application

Instructions to get to the online application is as follows:

  1. Log in to connect.oldwestbury.edu
  2. Your housing application, including the one (1) year license agreement, is done online:

  3. Look for Housing and Dining Card

  4. Click on Housing Self-Service & Apply Online (located under Housing & Dining). A new browser tab will open.

  5. ​​Click Apply Online, New to Housing Student (Incoming Freshman & Transfers ONLY)

  6. ​​​​​Complete all forms until you see a thank you screen. Be sure to follow on screen tips and directions. Your housing application, New to Housing Student (Incoming Freshman & Transfers ONLY) including the one year license agreement, is now done online.

    Returning residential or commuter students must complete a RE-ADMIT HOUSING APPLICATION online process.  

    Please note:  

    • You must have completed a $50 housing deposit
    • must be registered for full-time status (12 credits or more)
    • must be in good standing with the university
    • You must have the following items available to be able to process your housing application: 
    1. SUNY UNY OW E-mail Account (____@oldwestbury.edu for housing related communications) and
    2. an active SUNY OW Campus Portal (through connect.oldwestbury.edu)

    Completing the Housing Application
    (including the one year license agreement)

    1. Log in to connect.oldwestbury.edu
    2. Click Campus Life Button

    3. Click Housing Self-Service & Apply Online (located under Dining & Housing). A new browser tab will open.

    4. Click Apply Online, and select the RE-ADMIT APPLICATION ​​​​​​
    5. Complete all forms until you see a thank you screen. Be sure to follow on screen tips and directions. Your housing application, RE-ADMIT APPLICATION including the one year license agreement, is now done online.
