Title F Leaves

If you are on authorized leave without pay, or at reduced pay, your health benefits are not guaranteed. If you are not receiving a paycheck, your health benefits will not be covered by the college. If you are receiving a reduced paycheck, you may also not be covered for health benefits.

However, you may continue your health insurance coverage, and in most cases, you will be responsible for both the employee and employer shares of the premium (full share). Unless you take steps to cancel your medical coverage while on your leave, it will automatically continue, and you will accrue and receive a bill for the full-share cost. View Direct Pay Rates.

Canceling Coverage While on Leave

You have the option to cancel your health insurance coverage for the time you are on leave. You must submit the PS-404 to Karen Basile, Benefits Manager, in the Human Resources Department.

Your coverage will end on the last day of the pay period in which your request to cancel coverage was submitted. You may re-enroll at a later date, usually subject to the late enrollment waiting period (10 pay periods).
