Student Employment

Student employment is a great opportunity for students to gain work experience, learn new skills, network and earn income during their time at SUNY Old Westbury. Both Student Assistant and College Work Study (CWS) positions are available. If you are unsure of your CWS eligibility status, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

Department - Student Employment Hiring Procedures

All student positions must be submitted for review and approval through Interview Exchange, prior to offering student employment. For more detailed information on creating Student forms through Interview Exchange, please review the student appointment guide. (Guide coming soon). Student job positions should be posted through Handshake .

Complete the Onboarding Packet:

• Human Resources will email you an onboarding packet.  Kindly fill it out and bring it with you to your onboarding appointment.
• If you do not have access to a printer, we will be happy to provide the forms when  you come to Human Resources on the day of your appointment. Please do not send documents through email.
• The packet includes anI-9 form along with a list of acceptable documents.  Please bring the original documents required for verification.  Without completing the I-9, you cannot begin working or receive payment for any dates prior to completion.  If you have already completed an I-9 with us before, you do not need to fill out this part of the packet.
• In addition, if you would like to be paid through direct deposit, please bring  voided check or a direct deposit form from your bank.  Be sure the form is signed and ready by the time of your appointment.
