All Professional Licensure Disclosures

SUNY Old Westbury offers several programs that meet educational requirements for professional license or certification.

Per U.S. Federal Regulations, §668.14 and §668.43, and in compliance with the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) Policy Manual version 25.2. SUNY Old Westbury provides the following disclosure related to the educational requirements for professional licensure and certification.

SUNY Old Westbury's licensure/certification programs are registered by the New York State Education Department and thus meet the educational requirements for licensure/certification in New York State. SUNY Old Westbury's licensure/certification programs may or may not meet other states'/territories' educational requirements. When our programs do not meet another state's/territory's educational requirements for licensure/certification, SUNY Old Westbury may not enroll a student physically located in that state/territory unless:

  • The student signs a written attestation verifying their intent to seek licensure/certification in New York State or another state whose educational requirements are met by Old Westbury's academic program, or
  • Old Westbury determines that its academic program meets the educational requirements for licensure or certification in the state/territory in which the student is located.

It is important to note that SUNY Old Westbury is not the licensure or certification authority in any U.S. States/Territories and cannot assess whether an individual candidate will be issued a license/certificate in any U.S. States/Territories.

Individuals interested in Old Westbury’s professional licensure/certification programs who do not reside in New York State but are planning to seek employment in New York State may be eligible for admission to the campus’ professional licensure programs.
