If non-teaching staff members work a holiday where classes are in session, a compensatory day is earned or paid.
UUP Employees with a teaching appointment are required to work on all days that classes are in session. They are not eligible to accrue holidays.
Under the Attendance Rules, when a holiday falls on a Saturday, a holiday compensatory day is earned. In the case of employees whose regularly scheduled workday is Saturday, they shall observe the holiday on that actual date.
Floating Holidays (M/C, CSEA, PEF): Election Day and Lincoln's Birthday are floating holidays. Since classes are in session on both days, offices remain open and employees earn an extra day.
Floating Holidays (UUP): Election Day is observed the day after Thanksgiving. Lincoln's Birthday may be taken at the employee's discretion with advance supervisor approval.
