Talent Acquisition

What happens after an offer is made?

Once the employee verbally accepts the offer, Human Resources will take the following actions:

  • Conduct a background and coordinate the reference check with the hiring manager
  • Send the official offer letter to the employee
  • Email the employee their required onboarding paperwork

Onboarding Process

  • Onboarding paperwork: The required onboarding paperwork is sent electronically and must be completed by the employee on their first day.
  • Form I-9: The federal Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) must be completed in person. The employee must bring the required original documentation to Human Resources.
  • Completion of onboarding: Once Human Resources receives all required onboarding paperwork, including the completed I-9, HR will notify the hiring official and the department’s administrative support person that the onboarding process is complete.
  • New employee pickup: The hiring official or designated administrative support person should then pick up the new employee from Human Resources, Room I-211.

IT and Campus Access

  • Campus ID: One Card Services will create the employee’s Campus ID.
  • IT Access: Information Technology will establish the employee’s system access after the employee completes the I-9 process.
  • Timeline: The Campus ID and IT access process should be initiated within three business days.
  • IT Service Request: If IT access has not been established within one week, the manager may submit an Information Technology Service Request ticket.
