Western Suffolk BOCES partnered with SUNY Old Westbury and the following Long Island School Districts: Wyandanch UFSD, Amityville UFSD, Baldwin SD, Three Village CSD, Huntington UFSD and South Huntington UFSD, as well as other community partners to:
- Develop an innovative, supportive pathway for teacher aides and teaching assistants to become certified teachers
- Increase the diversity of the teaching force in high-need districts and schools, and
- Address teacher shortages/needs in high-need districts and high-need school
This grant provided both financial and educational supports for the eligible Teacher Assistants and/or Teacher Aides (TAs) candidates listed below.
