Strategic Plan: School of Business
In the Spring of 2017, The State University of New York at Old Westbury School of Business [SOB] began a strategic planning process with the goal to “provide access and support to empower our students with the knowledge, skills, and values to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly achieved through a committed faculty devoted to teaching excellence and relevant scholarship.” Achieving this goal enhances the learning experience for the learners and further advance the School’s goal of attaining AACSB International accreditation.
In consultation with key stakeholders, including learners (students and alumni), faculty, local business leaders, and a review of AACSB standards & best practices, the SOB Strategic Management Committee developed a Strategic Plan with three major goals and objectives that was unanimously approved by the Faculty. The master goals include: provide quality programs in business education, strengthen, grow and promote programs, and increase learner success.
The SOB Faculty reviews the five-year Strategic Plan annually and roll it forward. The latest annual review was carried out in February 2020, to monitor metrics and adjust strategies based on internal and external changes to achieve the goals and objectives.
