CALL Experience

SUNY Old Westbury is a community of “doers.”

The CALL Experience is a Signature Experience available for all students.  In the Community, Action, Learning and Leadership (CALL) Program, students apply classroom knowledge to the community.  Through civic engagement and service-learning opportunities - courses, fellowships, projects - students gain professional skills, expand their networks, build a portfolio of achievements and earn credentials while collaborating with their peers, faculty and community partners.

CALL is Community, Action, Learning and Leadership.

  • It is an opportunity for all students to connect service, scholarship and skill.
  • An introductory CALL Experience is embedded in the second semester of our First-Year program in the CL2000 College and Community course.
  • There are opportunities for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors to participate in CALL Experiences that connect community engagement to their degree and career goals.
