Orientation Checklist

Before you attend any part of the Orientation Program:

Pay Your Tuition Deposit

You can log onto the College's ConnectOW Portal to access your E-bill under Manage My Account Card, and information regarding billing and payment. Billing and payment information can also be found in the College’s Online Course Schedule. Payments can be made on-line using Visa, MasterCard and Discover Credit cards or a checking account. You can also sign up for a payment plan if you cannot pay right away. Please note that the Bursar's Office does not send out paper bills. All billing is done electronically.

*If you do not pay your tuition deposit, you cannot register for orientation.

Apply for On-campus housing

If you are requesting housing on campus, visit the housing application website and follow the directions!
Please contact Residential Life at reslife@oldwestbury.edu with questions about on-campus housing.

Ensure your Financial aid is complete

If you have applied for financial aid (this includes Direct Student Loans), you must check to make sure that your status is complete. To check the status of your aid, please visit ConnectOW Portal > "Banner" Card > "Banner SSB".

Check your campus email

All official communication from SUNY Old Westbury is sent to this email.  It is important that you check your campus email at least 1-2 times/week over the summer and daily during the academic year!

Submit your immunization forms

These must be completed by a health care provider, and sent it to the Student Health Center, before you can register for classes. Call Student Health Center with questions at 516-876-3250 or email them at studenthealth@oldwestbury.edu.

Before the start of classes:

Submit all final transcripts

For Transfer Students: If you were completing classes in the current semester at you previous institution, please submit your final official transcript with your final grades and/or completed degree. 

All transcripts may be sent electronically to enroll@oldwestbury.edu. Documents can also be mailed to:

For First-Time-to-College Students:  All final high school transcripts with you graduation date must be sent to enroll@oldwestbury.edu.  Advanced Placement (AP) credits are awarded when an official AP Score Report is received by the campus. For college courses taken at the high school level, an official transcript must be ordered from each sponsoring college for delivery to enroll@oldwestbury.edu.

Pay your bill

Students receive bill notification via email to their Old Westbury email accounts. It is important that you keep your inbox available and check both your email notification and your account regularly for changes in charges, financial aid, or other billed items. Please note that there are bill payment due dates which will also be communicated to your campus email.
