Summer 2026
Each Orientation Program offers a concurrent parent/supporter session that your student can register you for. During the programs you will be separated from your student and will receive your own schedule of sessions to attend. To view dates, visit the page associated with your student (First-Year Student or Transfer Student). There is a $50 fee that is added to the student account for each supporter who attends the program.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is FERPA and how can i have access to my student's records?
The U.S. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The University follows all federal and state laws concerning access, protection, and privacy of student records (other than directory information). For more information about FERPA and the FERPA Authorization Form, please visit the Registrar's FERPA site.
What do I need to know about bills, payment options, etc.?
Our Bursar's Office manages everything you need to know about cost of attendance, how and when to pay your bill, as well as payment plans. Please visit the Bursar's webpage and select the appropriate category for more information about your questions.
My student received accommodations in high school. What is the process to continue accommodations while attending Old Westbury?
- First, your student must self-identify. In doing so, a member of the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (OSSD) will then meet with your student to discuss their disability and accommodations that may reduce the impact of the environment on the disability.
- To begin the process, contact the Director, Ms. Stacey DeFelice.
What do I need to know about Health Forms and submitting them?
A list of required immunizations, as well as all the health services offered to students can be found on the Student Health website. Copies of immunization forms are also accepted via email to studenthealth@oldwestbury.edu.
Why is Orientation so important?
Orientation provides students with critical information and interpersonal connections to help them transition from high school (or their previous institution) to the SUNY Old Westbury campus community. During orientation, your student will have opportunities to interact with campus staff and seasoned Old Westbury students who can help answer their questions and put them at ease.
