What is Mr. & Ms. Old Westbury?
Mr. & Ms. Old Westbury is a high-energy campus competition celebrating the students who exemplify what it means to be an engaged Panther. Contestants compete through challenges that showcase campus involvement, leadership, personality, school spirit, creativity, service, communication, and knowledge of Old Westbury.
What does it mean to be Mr. & Ms. Old Westbury?
A Mr. or Ms. Old Westbury should be someone who:
Is actively involved across campus
Participates in campus traditions and events
Demonstrates leadership
Builds community
Represents Panther Pride
Supports student organizations and activities
Connects with students from different communities
Demonstrates school spirit
Gives back to the campus community.
Is recognizable and approachable
Can confidently represent Old Westbury
Serves as a positive ambassador for the institution
The crown recognizes campus impact, not popularity alone.

Elections – Sept 30/Oct 1
Winners Announced – Oct 2
Mr. & Ms. Old Westbury serve as:
Student ambassadors
Hosts at major campus events
Student engagement and organization advocates
Welcome Wagon participants
Representatives at institutional events
Social media ambassadors
Student voice representatives
They could also receive a small program budget to develop one student engagement initiative during their reign.
Mr. & Ms. Old Westbury and Mr. & Ms. 1965 would serve as:
Tradition & School Spirit Ambassadors – promoting OW pride and traditions
Represent at major programs, ceremonies, and appearances; 1965 would support as representatives.
Student Organizations Liaisons supporting clubs and organizations
Campus Tradition Advocates – help develop and promote traditions on campus
Welcome Wagon Participants – welcome new and returning students each year.
Event Hosts and Emcees for student events
Social Media Ambassadors – helping create content and promote student experience.
Community Service Ambassadors – lead or participate in at least one service or civic initiative
Create engagement and programming of their own.

Selection Method:
Voting (80%): Students vote via Panther Connect
Involvement and Impact Score (20%): Evaluated by faculty/staff panel based on submitted involvement and resume.
Court Candidate Qualifications
Open for all students to apply
Must be in good disciplinary standing
Must be involved in campus or community leadership, organizations, or service.
