What is the Homecoming Royal Court?
The Homecoming Royal Court is a tradition that recognizes outstanding Juniors and Seniors who embody the spirit, pride, and values of SUNY Old Westbury. The Court members are chosen for their leadership, involvement, academic achievement, and commitment to making a positive impact both on campus and beyond.

As a Court member, you will gain campus-wide recognition, professional development experiences, and opportunities to connect with students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Beyond the honor of being part of this tradition, you will help inspire pride across campus, represent your peers, and contribute to one of the most spirited and memorable weeks of the year!
Royal Court Schedule:
- Applications open on August 25, 2025 and remain open until September 5, 2025.
- September 8-12: Eligibility Checks
- September 12: Notification of Candidacy
- Candidate Information Sessions: (Please check Panther Connect for location details)
- Tuesday, September 16 at 1:30 PM
- Thursday, September 18 at 6:00 PM
- Friday, September 19 at 11:00 AM via Zoom
- Campaigning will begin on September 22, 2025.
- Voting takes place online from October 2, 2025 at 12 a.m. through October 3, 2025 at 12 p.m.
Homecoming Court Composition:
- Royal Panther & Panther Consort
- First Runner-Up
- Second Runner-Up
- All selected court members will serve as ambassadors at select campus events throughout the year.
Selection Method:
The Homecoming court selection process will be based on the following formula:
- Voting (60%): Students vote via Panther Connect
- Involvement and Impact Score (20%): Evaluated by faculty/staff panel based on submitted involvement and resume.
- Q&A Event Performance & Engagement (20%): Scored by panel on clarity, passion, engagement, service, support, and Panther Pride.
Court Candidate Qualifications
- Must be a current Junior or Senior (minimum of 54 credits earned)
- Must have a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA at time of application
- Must be in good disciplinary standing
- Must be involved in campus or community leadership, organizations, or service.
Application
Students interested in running for Homecoming Court must apply online. The application will open on Monday, August 25, 2025, and close on Friday, September 5, 2025.
