Panther Pride Homecoming Kick-Off

Time:  1:30 p.m. 
Location: Meadow Terrace (Outside Campus Center) 

All members of the campus community are welcome to celebrate the start of Panther Pride Homecoming. Kick-off includes announcements of the winners of the campus' annual "Cake-Off" and office decorating competitions.

African Artifacts Exhibit & Reception with Curator Talk

Time:  4 p.m.
Location: Duane L. Jones Recital Hall and Amelie A. Wallace Gallery 

Learn about the Cultural Museum of African Art, Inc. - The Eric Edwards Collection from its curator Eric Edwards. The event will include a discussion with the curator, discussing the museum’s pieces – some that are over 4000 years old – as well as the temporary exhibit at SUNY Old Westbury. The talk will be followed by a reception, with viewing of the exhibit.Hear from curator Dr. Eric Edwards about select pieces from his private collection amassed over 50 years and now counting more than 3,000 pieces.

Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony

It's class warfare...in a good way!  First-years vs. sophomores vs. juniors vs. seniors in a series of friendly competitions to see who wins bragging rights for the rest of the academic year.

Panther Pep Rally/Yard Show

A celebration of school spirit with recognition of our fall student-athletes: men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, women's volleyball and men's golf, and performances by the Panther Cheerleaders, All the Right Moves, and more. Then, our Yard Show comes alive as current students and alumni join together for a celebration of OW's fraternities and sororities.

Cheer on the Panther Women's Soccer Team as it hosts a Skyline Conference match-up versus those other panthers ... the ones from Purchase College!

Alumni Tent with Beer and Wine Garden

Featuring food and beverages, as well as our very first Beer and Wine Garden. Registration required for this alumni-only event.  

PantherFest Carnival and Block Party

Join us for "Raíces y Ritmos" (Roots and Rhythm) as we explore the diversity and commonalities of the world's people. The event is being offered as part of the campus' Hispanic Heritage Month programming. 

 

Homecoming Show

President's Farewell Brunch

Time:  11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Location:  Student Union Multipurpose Room

Join President Sams for a memorable closeout of the 2024 Alumni Homecoming Weekend. In its inaugural year, this event will begin with a live jazz performance from alumna, Mala Waldron ‘81 and her trio, followed by a special presentation with President Timothy Sams, who will then interview former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman, and 1997 Super Bowl Champion, Gary Brown. Brown, a Long Island native, philanthropist, and author has dedicated his life to empowering underprivileged youth to dream big and achieve their fullest potential. Dr. Sams and Mr. Brown will share their insights on volunteerism and giving back.
