SUNY Old Westbury’s School of Business hosted its annual Accounting Career Fair on October 21, 2025, with nearly 100 accounting students in attendance who had the opportunity to network with professionals.
With the goal of equipping students in the university's accounting program with the tools they need to pursue their careers, the fair welcomed 12 regional accounting firms.
The fair served as an interactive space where students could visit tables representing the firms. Students were able to ask thoughtful questions to the representatives regarding their field and practice their communication skills in a professional setting. Through engaging conversations, they were able to share their resumes and discuss their passions and expertise.
“The fair gives our students the chance to prepare for their futures and immerse themselves in the accounting field,” said Shalei Simms, dean of the School of Business. “As they approach the next chapter of their lives, we hope our students feel inspired by this opportunity to network, get first-hand advice from professionals, and learn about different firms that could soon be their future employers. We want to provide our students with experiences that will set them up for success.”
The firms who attended the event include: Cerini and Associates, LLP; CohnReznick; ezTaxReturn; Fuoco Group; HBK CPAs & Consultants; JTS Associates CPAs, P.C.; R.S. Abrams & Co., LLP; Rost & Company, CPAs, P.C.; Sasserath & Co.; Schultheis & Panettieri, LLP; Sheehan & Company, CPA, PC; and UHY LLP. There were six Old Westbury alumni representatives among these firms.
