"Founders' Day" brings together students, faculty, alumni and the community to commemorate the university's founding and to celebrate its rich history and enduring legacy of education and societal impact. The speaker for this inaugural event will be John King, chancellor of the State University of New York, who will discuss the founding and historic values of the SUNY system and how they interrelate and support the historic mission and values of SUNY Old Westbury.

President Timothy Sams welcomed new first-year and transfer students as the community came together to celebrate its 60th year during one of the key academic traditions of the SUNY Old Westbury campus. 

Charter Day

June 10, 2025

"Charter Day" marked the day the State University of New York Board of Trustees passed its resolution calling for the creation of our Nassau County institution. The campus community gathered to commemorate this important point in our campus' history and then moved off in teams to conduct service engagements across the campus.
