Panther adds All-American honors to standout 2026 season

SUNY Old Westbury junior Vinny Giambona added to what has been a growing list of accolades following his standout season as a pitcher for the Panther men's baseball team when he was named recently a D3baseball.com All-American.

The national recognition caps off an impressive year for Giambona, who established himself as one of the top pitchers in Region 3 while helping lead the Panthers throughout the 2026 campaign.

A Business Administration major from Levittown, New York, Giambona finished the season with a 6-1 record and a stellar 1.76 ERA while striking out 56 batters across 46.0 innings pitched. The junior allowed just 40 hits and seven earned runs all season, consistently giving the Panthers an opportunity to compete every time he took the mound.

His dominant season earned widespread recognition across both the regional and national levels. In addition to receiving D3baseball.com All-American honors, Giambona was named Region 3 Pitcher of the Year and earned D3baseball.com First Team All-Region recognition, cementing his place among the top pitchers in Division III baseball.

The All-American distinction represents one of the highest individual honors in Division III baseball and serves as recognition of Giambona's outstanding contributions throughout the season. His latest accolade further highlights the continued growth and success of the SUNY Old Westbury baseball program while showcasing the talent that continues to emerge from the Panther Baseball program.
