Information for Inauguration Delegates

We are honored to have you participate in the Inauguration and Investiture Ceremony of Dr. Timothy E. Sams as a representative of your distinguished institution. Please note that only individuals appointed by their institution's president as its official representative will be able to serve in a delegate capacity during the Inauguration Processional .

The following information is a general overview of the events and logistics of the day as they relate to participating college and university delegates. Additional details concerning ceremony logistics and other information to plan your trip will be emailed to those delegates who RSVP.

Academic Attire and Robing

All delegates in the academic procession are expected to wear academic attire. If you do not have a cap and gown, please contact the school or organization you are representing so that they may provide you with the necessary academic regalia. Delegates should not wear medallions or cords of any kind.

The robing will be in the Calvin O. Butts, III Campus Library, located in the Campus Center beginning at 1 p.m. The Inauguration Processional will begin forming at 1:30 p.m.

Each delegate will have an assigned position in the procession according to the year of founding of his/her institution. We ask that you be robed at least 45 minutes before the ceremony so that we can assure the appropriate order of the procession. Staff members will be available to assist you.

Reception

Following the ceremony, we invite all guests to join us for a Reception at in the Campus Center Atrium. 

Delegates are also invited to attend the “Meet the Leaders: How Businesses Can Partner with Higher Education Institutions for Economic Growth and Stability in the 21st Century” being held from 10:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. in the College’s Student Union. If you would like to attend this function, please note your intention when you RSVP as a delegate.
