Alternate Pathways for Students Interested in Business

Don't be discouraged if you can't...

   1) achieve the 3.0 GPA or
   2) complete the four semesters of Mathematics courses required for a degree in business!

Sometimes it's more productive to focus on an alternate pathway that can be completed in a manageable timeframe.  Several majors at Old Westbury can be paired with a minor in Business Administration, Marketing or Accounting.  Classes a student may have already completed while working towards a business can also fill requirements in other majors

Industrial and Labor Relations
  • Prepares students for careers in human resource management, business, unions, advocacy and government agencies like the Department of Labor
  • Overlapping Courses: Applied Statistics, Micro & Macroeconomics, Organizational Behavior, Management & Society and Human Resource Management
  • To complete this major, students must be able to take evening classes
