University Police at Old Westbury is proud to offer programming for our community.
Coffee with a Cop
The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the community they serve, building bridges and connections between the University Police and the entire community.
Living Clean and Sober Radio Show
Every other Wednesday from 3pm-4pm during the Fall and Spring semesters, tune into SUNY College at Old Westbury web radio (OWWRNY.org) for the Living Clean and Sober radio show. The purpose of the show is to educate and create awareness in prevention, abstinence, and recovery.
Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Awareness events
Every October and April, University Police partners with Safe Center LI, LGBT Network, Student Escape Corner, S.T.A.R., the Counseling Center, and Student Health Services to raise awareness, understand, and prevent incidents of sexual assault and domestic violence.
A fun, interactive, and informative event! Participants don the "impaired vision" googles and attempt to "walk the line," which simulates walking a straight line with impaired vision. In addition, participants may ride on a seat belt simulator, which will mimic the effect of wearing a seat belt in a motor vehicle accident.
University Police participates in programs hosted by the Office of Residential Life. Programs include What to Do When Stopped by a Police Officer, Active Shooter, Drug/Alcohol Awareness, and many others.
