The work to replace portions of the College's Ring Road began on October 9 and is expected to continue through mid-December.
- Road Section 1 is expected to be closed for work from 10/09/2019 to 10/30/2019. During this time you will need to turn RIGHT (east) when you reach Ring Road via access roads B and C (from the L.I.E. service road). Follow Ring Road all the way around past Campus Center to get to Woodlands Halls or Clark Athletic Center. Please note that this section will reopen 10/31 with the road being rough but drivable at low speed.
- Road Section 2 is expected to be closed for work from 10/31/2019 to 11/21/2019. During this time you will need to turn RIGHT (east) when reaching Ring Road via access road C (from the L.I.E service road) and LEFT (west) when reaching Ring Road via access road B. Follow Ring Road from each of these campus entry roads to get to Campus Center, Student Union, Woodland Halls and Clark Athletic Center. Please note that this section will reopen 11/22, along with Section 1, with the road being rough but drivable at low speed.
- Road Section 3 is expected to be closed for work from 11/22/2019 to 12/13/2019. During this time you need to turn LEFT (west) when you reach Ring Road via access roads B and C (from the L.I.E. service road). Follow Ring Road all the way around past Clark Athletic Center to reach Clark Athletic Center, Woodlands Halls and Campus Center or the Student Union Building parking lots. Please note that this section will reopen 12/13, along with Sections 1 and 2, again being rough but drivable at low speed.
Please note for all Sections of road work that:
- All 3 sections of road will receive a final smooth coat (asphalt) once section 3 is completed on or about 12/16/2019.
- Gate A (from route 106) will be open at all times and may be the most direct route to all areas of the campus.
- All work is dictated by weather and we will update all work schedule and detour changes if and before they occur.
Detour signage is in place and should make route alternates as apparent as possible. It would be best to plan some extra time to get to campus destinations in order to adjust to the road improvement work being done.
Questions about this or other capital projects on campus can be directed to the Office of Capital Planning.
