Dr. Alex Rivera is the proud principal of the George A. Jackson Elementary School in Jericho, NY. The school was recognized in 2023 by the United States Education Department as a Blue Ribbon School for high academic achievement. Prior to his current position, Dr. Rivera served as classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal across the New York City Department of Education, Uniondale, and Valley Stream 30 school districts. While in Uniondale, his school was recognized as both a NYS and National School of Character.
As principal, Dr. Rivera has worked with teachers and administrators to provide ongoing opportunities for students to participate in state and nationally recognized programs connected to performing arts, robotics, math, music, and more. He also serves as an adjunct professor for both Molloy University and Touro University supporting graduate level students in the areas of childhood education and school leadership.
Dr. Rivera holds numerous educational degrees in the field of education from SUNY Old Westbury, Stony Brook University, and Hofstra University (where he completed his doctoral studies). Dr. Rivera is an avid traveler who loves to spend his down time on the beach with his family.
