Graduates celebrate at 2023 commencement

SUNY Old Westbury will celebrate the Class of 2026 when it officially confers undergraduate and graduate degrees during its 60th Commencement ceremony, to be held on Wednesday, May 20. The Commencement Ceremony will begin at 12 p.m at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

“I grow more eager everyday as the calendar continues to move closer to our 60th Commencement,’ said President Timothy E. Sams. “I look forward to seeing this year’s graduates, their loved ones, and our faculty and staff as we come together to celebrate the Class of 2026.”

This year’s degree recipients will have the privilege of hearing from The Honorable Sallie Manzanet-Daniels, associate justice in the New York State Appellate Division, First Department, who will deliver the Commencement address during the ceremony.

More than 1,100 graduates earned degrees during the 2025–2026 academic year and will now count themselves among SUNY Old Westbury’s more than 39,000 alumni.

While the vast majority of graduates hail from the Empire State, the Class of 2026 also includes graduates from Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

A total 955 of this year’s graduates earned undergraduate degrees, while 204 earned graduate degrees.
