The Board of Trustees of the Old Westbury College Foundation was proud to honor recently distinguished local residents and graduates of the State University of New York at Old Westbury along with the college’s president, Calvin O. Butts, III, during the 2019 Old Westbury College Foundation Leadership Awards Dinner.
More than 500 guests were in attendance to support the not-for-profit organization and its efforts to raise funds for student scholarships and other programs of SUNY Old Westbury.
The OWCF Leadership Awards honor those who enrich the Long Island community in distinctive ways — economically, scientifically, culturally, intellectually and socially — and whose efforts, taken together, are helping to advance the Long Island Region.
OWCF Leadership Awards were presented to Ravi Bhooplapur, president of Xavier University School of Medicine; Laura Anker, distinguished service professor and director of first year experience at SUNY Old Westbury; and Lionel Chitty, a 2002 graduate of the college and current president of the Alumni Association of SUNY Old Westbury.
The affair also honored SUNY Old Westbury President Calvin O. Butts, III for his 20 years of service to the College and all of Long Island.
