Alumna Earns Emmy Award for Bilingual TV Program

Media and Communications alumna Lupita Gadeas ‘16 recently won an Emmy Award from the New York Chapter of the National Academic of Television Arts and Sciences. As an Associate Producer for a show on Telemundo, Gadeas was part of the team that earned the award in the Health/Science: Program Feature/Segment category. The Awards were held on April 14, 2018. 

The award-winning show, Adictivo, is the first bilingual Spanish language morning television program in the New York tri-state area.

Prior to joining the Adictivo TV team, Gadeas interned with Univision Communications, Inc., and was an on-air personality on a radio talk show on 98.5FM La Fiesta LI. During her years at Old Westbury, she was an active member of Old Westbury Web Radio – OWWR, writing news scripts, producing event promotions and segments, and engineering live broadcasts.
