Staying Connected

Programming & Activities

CSLI hosts a variety of programming through out the year to help build community and build a vibrant campus life experience.

Traditional Programming

Welcome Week

A six-week long program in the Fall and a three-week long program in the Spring to welcome students to Old Westbury which includes an activities fair, barbeques, athletic events, and so much more! For all upcoming events, please check out oldwestbury.presence.io

Club Bash

Every semester, around the second or third week in, you can find out how to get involved with various clubs, organizations, honor societies, and more on campus. If you don't see a club for you, reach out to the Student Government Association to find out how you can create your own.

Commuter appreciation Week

A week long programming series to engage and connect the Old Westbury commuter population. Commuter  Appreciation Week happens in the Fall (typically in October) and Spring (typically in March)

Multicultural Fair

Each September we hold a Multicultural Fair to provide students resources about Old Westbury from academics to cultural clubs/organizations, and connect with students, faculty, and staff from similar identity or affinity groups.

Winter Carnival

In December, we celebrate the rich holiday traditions of different cultural backgrounds, faiths, and religious beliefs during the Winter Months.

The CookOut

Each February, we welcome the OW community back to campus and kick off Black History Month with a fun cookout that includes food, music, performances and more.

FSL Week

Each Fall & Spring, we highlight out fraternities and sororities with a week long series of programming ending in our FSL Expo event.

Juneteenth Celebration

On June 19 (or the Friday prior if it falls on a weekend), we celebrate Freedom Day as a campus community with music, food, spoken word/poetry, and faculty/alumni speakers.
