Support SUNY Old Westbury Today

The programs and projects outlined below are examples of the types of activities that benefit when you give to the Old Westbury College Foundation, Inc.  If one of the descriptions below matches the area of interest you have, you can donate now.  If you have a different specific interest to which you would like to give, please contact Randy Daniels, Director of Advancement Initiatives (Acting), to arrange a discussion.

The SUNY Old Westbury Annual Fund

Donate to the Annual Fund

The Annual Fund enables students and faculty to experience and achieve more. Your gift is important each and every year. All gifts, regardless of size, play an important role in allowing SUNY Old Westbury to become the best institution it can be. Gifts to the Annual Fund are vital to ensuring innovation and excellence at the College. Each year, alumni, parents, and friends make contributions to the Annual Fund. Your support is important and appreciated. Because they are used for a variety of purposes, gifts to the Annual Fund can have an immediate impact on our capacity to provide a wealth of opportunities to our students as they seek to become critical thinkers, problem-solvers, visionaries, and leaders who will re-imagine and transform the world.

When gifts to the Annual Fund are made without restrictions on their use, they give the Foundation and the College the flexibility to allocate resources strategically, taking advantage of unexpected opportunities to fund new educational programs and strengthen existing ones. Gifts to the Annual Fund cover immediate needs that funding from other sources, including tuition revenue and endowment earnings, are not always sufficient to meet. These include:

  • Student financial aid
  • Guest speakers on campus
  • Joint student-faculty research projects
  • Community-outreach initiatives
  • Study abroad
  • Additions to the library’s print and electronic holdings
  • Clubs and other extracurricular activities
  • Campus musical and theatrical groups
  • Varsity, intramural, and recreational sports

The School of Professional Studies (SPS) supports the College’s mission by expanding access to higher education through student-centered professional and general education programs that promote the values of life-long learning and social and professional responsibility.  Through close interaction with faculty and professional staff, SPS students develop a foundation for professional success or graduate study by cultivating critical thinking, empathy, creativity, and the practical skills necessary to build a more just and sustainable world.
