New Students Register:
To register for summer, students who have never attended SUNY Old Westbury must complete the "Quick Admit" application.

Grading Policy
The grading system provides for 16 letter grades consisting of A,A-,B+,B,
B-,C+,C,C-,D+,D,D-,F, CR (credit)/NC (no credit), I (incomplete), W (withdrawal). All students who remain on the roster after the Add/Drop period receive one of these grades.
Credit/No Credit Option
If you wish to take a course on a credit/no credit basis, you must complete the "Request for Credit/No Credit" in the Portal by the deadline posted on Academic Calendar. If this procedure is not followed, a grade of credit or no credit will not be allowed at final grading. If this application is submitted by the date specified, the course must be graded as credit/no credit. A request for a letter grade (A-F) will not be accepted. A grade of CR/NC has no effect on the grade point average.

Campus Housing
Summer campus housing is available. Continuing Old Westbury students interested in staying on campus during Summer 2025 must be engaged in some aspect of their education which necessitates living on campus.
Spring 2025 residents who plan on applying for Summer housing should note that they may only stay on campus for the duration of their sessions. There will be periods where no classes are in session and the residence halls are shut down; please plan on making alternate housing arrangements for those times.
Eligibility for housing is determined by:
1. Enrollment in (a) summer course(s) and/or research
-AND-
2. Student must have a summer meal plan(s) appropriate for the length of time
-AND-
3. Student must be in good academic standing
-AND-
4. Student must be in good standing with the office of Student Conduct
-AND-
5. Student is cleared with all appropriate College offices (Bursar, Financial Aid, Registrar) at the point of checking into the halls
-AND-
6. Student must meet all COVID-19 requirements
The Office of Residential Life is located in the Student Union, Suite 303.

Students who will be entering Old Westbury for the Fall 2025 semester and are interested in obtaining housing must complete an online application and deposit with the Office of Residential Life.
Immunizations
Immunization requirements must be met prior to registration. All students must submit appropriate documentation verifying that they are in FULL compliance with the New York State immunization requirements listed below. Students who are NOT in full compliance ARE NOT allowed to register:
Immunization Record
New York State Public Health Law (Article 21, Title VI, Sections 2165 & 2167) require all enrolled college students born after January 1, 1957 to show proof of immunity against measles, mumps and rubella. In addition, proof of meningococcal vaccine within the last five (5) years or a signed declination/waiver is required.

New York State Public Health Law (NYS PHL) § 2167 requires institutions, including colleges and universities, to distribute information about meningococcal disease and vaccine to all students meeting enrollment criteria, whether they live on or off campus. Meningitis Vaccine Facts Sheet.pdf

Vehicle Registration
All students who park on campus are required to register their vehicles. Students can purchase a parking permit through the online Parking Permit System. The cost is $16.00 for the first vehicle and $8.00 for each additional vehicle. Go to your CONNECT.OLDWESTBURY.EDU account, sign in, click on the Finances button, click on the Order Parking Permit button, and follow the instructions there. Note that the parking permit is virtual so there will be no decals this year. All students who fail to register their vehicle/s will be subject to ticketing.
Financial Aid
Federal and State aid is available to students enrolled for six or more credits as a regular student in an eligible program. The types of assistance available to undergraduate students are Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), Federal Pell Grant, and Federal Direct Loan. Graduate students are only eligible for loans. Federal regulations require students to complete the financial aid filing process and to prove financial need to be eligible for a Financial Aid award. Students must meet academic standards to be eligible for financial aid. For further details, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at financialaid@oldwestbury.edu or 516-876-3000, option #3. It is suggested that students start their process of filing financial aid paperwork for the summer in early March if possible.
