
Ela Tokay, Assistant Professor, Philosophy and Social Justice Fellow received her Ph.D. in Philosophy from Fordham University in 2023 and also holds an MA from Loyola Marymount University. Her interests lie at the intersection of environmental philosophy and climate justice, and her research focuses on how alternative conceptions of agency and action can motivate more just responses to ecological harms in an age of global climate change. She has taught courses on the philosophy of human nature, environmental philosophy, and normative ethics and recently contributed a chapter to the Handbook of the Philosophy of Climate Change. Ela values inclusivity, interdisciplinarity, and collaboration in her research and teaching.
