OW STEAM is a comprehensive and innovative program for OW students that are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). This program will also feature the application of STEAM topics to entrepreneurship and media.

What do OW STEAM students do?
Lower division requirements:
- Take 16-20 credits in OW STEAM tagged courses as part of your required degree program coursework
- Participate in 3-4 OW STEAM sponsored co-curricular experiences per academic year including sessions
- Engaging with a brand new OW STEAM Makerspace, developing research methods and techniques, entrepreneurship and technology, social meeting and technology, virtual and augmented reality
- Special engagement with OW Research Day
- Research Rotations
- Meet with 3-4 active faculty member whose research interests you and who may serve as a future research mentor
- Meet with 3-4 active student researchers to learn about their experiences as OW researchers
Upper Division requirements:
- Mentored researcher experience with and OW faculty, with research support of up to $1500
- OW STEAM research for credit courses
- Culminating research presentations based on mentor research work. This will take place at a research networking fair that will have major leaders and stakeholders from around our region in attendance to help students with placement and recruitment into successful career paths and professional/graduate programs
