Katharine Noon is a dedicated educator and Teacher Leader at 177Q in New York City with more than 18 years of experience in special education. From an early age, she knew she wanted to become a teacher, but it was during her student teaching experience at St. John’s University that she discovered her passion for special education.
Throughout her career, Ms. Noon has worked in a variety of educational settings. She spent 14 years as a self-contained homeroom teacher supporting students with autism, ages 5 through 21, and an additional four years as a cluster teacher. She currently serves as an 8:1:1 middle school teacher, where she empowers students with disabilities to advocate for themselves and build independence.
Beyond the classroom, Ms. Noon has played an active role in strengthening her school community. As a member of the Curriculum Team, she developed a strong interest in teacher leadership and instructional support. In her current role as a Peer Collaborative Teacher, she mentors and supports fellow educators while fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement.
