I would be neither the clinician nor person I am today without the experiences I had during my graduate degree. I am deeply grateful for the training and mentorship I received during my time at SUNY Old Westbury.

Degree: Mental Health Counseling, M.S., Psychology, B.A.
Current Roles: Owner & Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Ruppert Counseling PLLC

My Story:
I am currently the owner of Ruppert Counseling, a private practice started in 2024, which is a growing remote psychotherapy practice serving adults and adolescents across NY.

Drawing on my grad training at SUNY Old Westbury, I use an eclectic, evidence-based approach that integrates psychodynamic therapy with CBT & DBT to support clients across a range of mental health concerns. I have a special focus on substance use, trauma, identity exploration, and LGBTQ+ affirming care.

I started my career working at an inpatient psychiatric facility in 2018, the same facility I interned at during my graduate degree.

One of the most distinctive aspects of SUNY OW’s program was its cohort-based learning model, with intentional breaks between classes designed to encourage collaboration and idea sharing. What initially felt uncomfortable ultimately became one of the most valuable and enriching parts of the experience.
