SUNY Old Westbury Visual Art majors Amanda Brooks and Josh Olsen have each received Honorable Mentions in two separate statewide art competitions.

Brooks, a New Hyde Park, N.Y. resident and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts Fall 2018 graduate, earned an honorable mention in the "Best of SUNY Student Art Exhibition" for her work “Lost at Sea.” This juried exhibition showcases work by student artists from across the State University of New York system. Various forms of visual art are included and judged, including drawing, ceramics, painting, sculpture, photography, and printmaking, as well as mixed media, graphic design, and digitally-produced works. The awarded works are being showcased in the Best of Art Exhibit in May 2019.
