Washington Monthly released in is September 2024 edition its 2024 College Guide and Rankings and SUNY Old Westbury was recognized among the top master’s universities in the nation while also being named one of the Northeast’s "Best Bang for the Buck" colleges.
SUNY Old Westbury ranked 136th out of nearly 600 schools in the Master's Universities rankings, which are schools that "award a significant number of master's degrees but few or no doctoral degrees." Washington Monthly's editors rank four-year schools based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research and providing opportunities for public service.
Washington Monthly's "Best Bang for the Buck" colleges are measured by how well non-wealthy students obtain marketable degrees at affordable prices. SUNY Old Westbury ranked 31st among nearly 400 institutions in the Northeast region on the 2024 list.
