As The Field Placement Director in the Psychology Department I oversee the following:

● Manage both undergraduate Psychology and graduate Mental Health Counseling placements.

● For the undergraduate program, coordinate a large placement program serving 100 students each semester at over 40 agencies.

● Deliver department-approved workshops introducing prospective students to course requirements.

● Teach a 2-credit seminar each semester on professional development and career pathways.

● Work with faculty members teaching Field Experience to monitor student activities, safety, and welfare in their placements.

● For the graduate program, maintain regular contact with site supervisors to monitor both student progress and site compliance with NYSED Office of the Professions requirements for professional experience placements.

● Coordinate the professional experience placements (semester-long Practicum or yearlong internships) for graduate students in the NYS licensure-qualifying program.

● Advise and assist students in the placement process.

● Manage student placement and experiences using Tevera, the online placement platform.

● Assess sites and supervisors for various reporting purposes (including accreditation) and develop new placements that offer a broad range of experience for our students.

● Serve as the main contact person for inquiries, conduct site visits, and monitor existing placements.
