Dr. Anthony Murray is an accomplished educator with a wealth of experience in mathematics education, instructional leadership, and technology integration.  Dr. Murray received his Doctorate in Administrative & Instructional Leadership from St. John’s University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics & Statistics/Mathematics from Stony Brook University, Master of Arts in Mathematics Education from New York University, and a Specialist Diploma in School Administration & Supervision from CUNY Queens College.  Dr. Murray began his career as a mathematics teacher, progressing to leadership roles such as Mathematics Chairperson and Director of Mathematics, Computer Education & Technology.  

In his current position as the Director of Mathematics at Freeport Public Schools, Dr. Murray leads initiatives to enhance student learning through innovative approaches.  He collaborates with stakeholders to develop budgets aligning with educational goals, and provides professional development opportunities to educators.  His expertise extends to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and the integration of technology in instructional practices.   

Throughout his career, Dr. Murray has demonstrated a commitment to professional development and scholarly inquiryHe serves as an adjunct professor at SUNY Old Westbury and CUNY Queensborough, where he shares his knowledge with future educatorsAdditionally, Dr. Murray has presented at numerous conferences, exploring topics such as blended learning, cryptocurrencies, best practices in math instruction and the neuroscience of mathematics.
