Andre Benito Mountain is an esteemed educator, elementary principal, and the visionary force behind Def-Education Consulting LLC, situated in metro Atlanta. His impactful literary contributions include "Principals Don’t Walk on Water" (2020), reflecting his deep insights into educational leadership. Additionally, he hosts the DEF-Education podcast, amplifying diverse voices in education, and publishes DEF-ED Magazine, spotlighting urban educators, artists, and activists. Beginning his career as a dedicated teacher in Macon, Georgia, Andre's journey led him to roles as a Curriculum Coordinator in Augusta, Georgia, and an Assistant Principal in Tacoma, Washington, before his current leadership position. He has garnered international and national recognition for his innovative initiatives, notably being named a 2024 Epic Educator. 

Andre's groundbreaking Hip Hop Literacy Laboratory reshapes traditional literacy instruction by infusing it with the cultural richness of Hip Hop. His passion lies in bridging arts, culture, and critical pedagogy to foster inclusive and empowering learning environments. Through his work, he advocates for equity and innovation in education, inspiring educators and students alike to reimagine the possibilities of teaching and learning. Andre Benito Mountain continues to leave an indelible mark on the field of education, championing transformative practices that uplift communities and empower youth for a brighter future.
