A Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) work stoppage began on Saturday, May 16. With a full train service shutdown until further notice, the following is guidance for students, faculty, and staff.

Faculty giving in-class finals on  Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19 had the option to move those finals online. Any final moved online was announced by the faculty to their students by Friday, May 15 at noon.

For finals still planned for an in-class setting, those who rely on the LIRR should make alternate travel arrangements. The  NICE (Nassau Inter-County Express) bus  provides service to campus. Carpooling is encouraged.

Students who have a final exam and are unable to get to campus should contact their professor to make alternate arrangements.

All non-essential employees have the option of working remotely during the strike. Work with your supervisors to make any needed arrangements. Essential staff  should report to work as directed.
