Rolande Elie is a Special Education Teacher at Riverdale Avenue Middle School (RAMS). She has worked in the education system for 13 years, and for the past 2 years, she has taught 7th grade children at RAMS. Her journey began as an assistant teacher in the Department of Education (DOE) while she earned a master's degree in School Counseling. Recognizing the importance of furthering her education, Rolande decided to pursue a second master's degree at the University of Mount Saint Vincent, where she obtained dual certification in M.S. in Childhood Education (Grades 1 Through 6) and Special Education. Her passion for education is deeply influenced by parents back in Haiti, who envisioned Rolande as an active citizen capable of making meaningful changes in others' lives. This vision has been a driver throughout her career, inspiring Rolande to advocate for students with diverse needs and help them reach their full potential. In her role, she strive to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and understanding among all students. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities to make a positive impact on students' lives. As Rolande continues this rewarding journey, she remains committed to lifelong learning and professional development to better serve my students and community.
