SUNY Old Westbury Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder to Host Free Online Conference

SUNY Old Westbury’s Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders (RCASD) is offering “Teaching to Successful Outcomes: Supporting Children with Autism in the Home, School & Community,” a free virtual conference providing the latest information on evidence-based topics regarding autism on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Professionals, students, educators, individuals with autism spectrum disorders and parents are all welcome to attend the conference online. CEUs for BCBAs, social workers, psychologists and CTLEs for teachers, school leaders and teaching assistants are also available. The conference is sponsored by a grant from the New York State Education Department and is free to all attendees who wish to register.

The keynote address titled “Ethical Considerations in Functional Assessment and Treatment Development for Individuals with ASD & Other Special Needs” will feature Dr. Robert LaRue, a Clinical Professor at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University and Director of Behavioral and Research Services at The Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center.

The Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder at Old Westbury, established in 2013, is a university affiliated resource center with the overarching goal of disseminating evidence-based practices for supporting individuals with autism.
