OWWR - Old Westbury Web Radio is once again taking part in World College Radio Day, which is on Thursday, February 13, 2020. This year, OWWR will be simulcasting a special live 3 hour radio broadcast, (8 AM - 11 AM, EST), from the Guglielmo Marconi Museum, in Bologna, Italy. This will be a one-time, historic event, as the live radio program will be broadcast from the actual room that Guglielmo Marconi invented radio and will also recognize the 125th anniversary of his first successful radio transmission in 1895. The show will celebrate Marconi’s legacy as well as highlight how radio continues to impact lives around the world today. The President of the Marconi Foundation, Giovanni Emanuele Corazza, will also be interviewed live on the air. During the program there will be a celebration for the launch of Outside Radio, an online radio station that is organized by students with autism, in Bologna, Italy. For more information contact OWWR Station Manager Joseph Manfredi at manfredij@oldwestbury.edu

World College Radio Day seeks to raise a greater international awareness of the many college and high school radio stations that operate around the world by encouraging listenership. More than 400 radio stations in over 20 countries take part each year.
