OER are teaching, learning, and research materials in any medium that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits repurposing by others—and therefore are free or low-cost to students. Most OER are openly released with Creative Commons Licenses that state specifically how the material can be used, reused, adapted, and shared. Learn more about OER and Creative Commons with librarian Joanne Spadaro in this 1-hour introductory workshop for faculty and staff. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to Joanne Spadaro (spadaroj@oldwestbury.edu or 516.876.2896) by March 2, 2020. The workshop is co-supported by the Ad Hoc OER Committee and the SUNY Old Westbury Library.
