
The 2024 Eclipse: A Viewing Experience
The 2024 Solar Eclipse will darken the skies of Long Island on April 8, 2024, between 3:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Location: Meadow Terrace, Outside the Campus Center Atrium
Get ready for the celestial event of the decade! Long Island will see 88% coverage, and you won’t want to miss it!
Solar eclipses like this are a natural marvel and occur in the same location once every 400 years, making this an unmissable opportunity!
Where to go:
- Time: 2:30-4:30 p.m.
- Location: Meadow Terrace, Outside the Campus Center
What will occur?
- The eclipse begins at 2:12 p.m.
- The maximum (88% coverage for Long Island) will occur at around 3:27 p.m.
- The eclipse ends at around 4:35 p.m.

It is essential that adequate eye protection is used whenever you look directly at the sun to avoid causing permanent and irreparable damage to your retinas.
