Fellowship Guidelines
Overview - This fellowship is a collaboration between SUNY Old Westbury and the Empire State Service Corps. Old Westbury students can be agents of change in their local community. Fellows will gain hands-on experience by engaging and collaborating with local community organizations in one of the following areas:

Students interested in gaining hands-on experiences through paid public service are encouraged to apply.
Student Eligibility Requirements
- Be currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior at SUNY Old Westbury.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Can commit to 150 hours in the fall and spring semester.
Application Submission Process
Interested students can apply on the Empire State Service Corps website.
Fellowship Award Amount –
Fellows will be paid $16.50 per hour and will be compensated for transportation costs.
Professional Development Opportunities -
Fellows will participate in professional development activities. These may include workshops on advocacy, policy, interpersonal skill development, soft and hard skills development, and leadership. You will gain transferrable skills and increase potential for future success while gaining a competitive edge in the job market. Fellows will have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with like-minded peers and a diverse community expanding your personal and professional network and harnessing your passions to make tangible impact on campus and beyond.
