The School of Education is approved by the New York State Education Department and is a proud member of American Association of Quality Educator Preparation (AAQEP). The School of Education is currently engaged in a process that is expected to result in AAQEP accreditation in early 2022.
The School of Education is comprised of three academic departments:
- Adolescence Education: Provides instruction and preparation for those seeking to become teachers in grades 7-12.
- Childhood Education and Literacy: Provides instruction and preparation for those seeking to become teachers in grades 1-6, including teacher-candidates with bilingual skills.
- Exceptional Education and Learning: Provides instruction and preparation for those seeking to teach students with disabilities within grades 1-6, including teacher-candidates with bilingual skills.
