become a mentor
The Career Mentoring program pairs students with alumni professionals based on similar areas of interest and is designed to give Old Westbury students a real “inside look” at what their future might hold. The goal is to prepare students with real world knowledge and experiences from their professional mentors.
The program is adaptable to the needs of individual participants. The extent of time contributed by mentors is dependent on their availability and chosen level of participation.
Mentors may choose from one or more of the following options:
- Mentor a student
- Offer internship, shadowing opportunities or a job to current students and recent graduates
- Participate in Career Fairs at SUNY College at Old Westbury
- Offer a leadership workshop for current students
- Speak on panels
- Conduct in-person practice interviews
- And much more
Mentors gain the satisfaction of helping students make sound career decisions. Help us help them.
