Planned Gifts

Planned or deferred gifts allow you to make a major commitment to Old Westbury without sacrificing income needed today. These gifts often come to colleges and universities through provisions in wills or trusts. Additionally, the Old Westbury College Foundation, Inc. can be named as a beneficiary of a charitable remainder trust, life insurance policy, or gift annuity.

Payroll Deduction

Please contact Pritpal Kainth at (516) 876-3207 for additional information about your payroll deduction options.

Appreciated Securities, Stocks, and Bonds

Making a gift of appreciated securities, stocks, or bonds may provide you with significant tax advantages, and may be made as outright gifts or as a payment on a pledge. Typically, securities transferred to the College Foundation will be sold at the earliest opportunity, with the charitable gift considered to be completed on the date of delivery, which in turn determines the tax year in which the gift is deductible. Fair market value for publicly traded securities is the mean selling price on the date of delivery of the gift. Due to potential complexities, the College Foundation may accept gifts of closely held stock and life insurance policies on a case-by-case basis only.

We recommend that you consult with one of our Advancement Team members before a transaction is initiated.
